The Fresno Bee and fresnobee.com are launching the 15th annual Academic All-Stars competition to honor outstanding students in the central San Joaquin Valley.
The Fresno Bee is holding its 15th Annually Academic All Stars Competition for 1st through 12th grades...! Last year the Bee had more than 1,300 nominations and entries. This year the Bee is hoping to have an even bigger event this year.
If you know a student who should be considered this year, please complete the Academic All-Stars form and return it to The Bee, or nominate a student online.
Nominations must be received no later than Feb. 26. Previous winners are not eligible for All-Star status, but their names may be published as nominees.

| Student Protests At CSU Fresno |
Students all over the nation today are protesting increases in tuition, reduced class offerings, furloughs and more. At CSU Fresno, students marched from Shaw Avenue to campus chanting and carrying posters and the like. The event was tame and offered the gathering of peace officers little to do. Go 'Dogs...!
Traffic on 19th Avenue was temporarily shut down today when students from San Francisco State University protesting cuts to educational funding poured into the street and blocked traffic. ~SF Gate |
