Fate throws them together one night in Chicago and from that point on, they find their lives overlapping and changing in ways they hadn’t expected. At the center of it all is the fabulous Tiny Cooper, offensive lineman and musical theater auteur. Got Angst?
Author E. Lockhart has created a quiz entitled "What Teen Angst Novel Are You"? In her own words it is "a quiz for the heartbroken, the miserable, the hopeful, the dorky, the rebellious and the meek -- or, for anyone who wants to know what to read next." Curious? Take the quiz and post your results below.
PS Here are my results: PREP, by Curtis Sittenfeld. Thought-provoking, class-conscious, analytical, smartly observant. Sometimes irritating. Go read it. It's you.

The Unwritten Rule
There is an unwritten rule among friends, everyone knows it and you don't ever need to talk about it. I'm going to tell you the rule and then I need to talk about it. The rule is that you simply do not go after your best friend's boyfriend. Everyone knows this and any decent person respects this rule. But what if: 1. You liked him first. Like years before, you were the one that had feelings for him. 2. She only likes him because he suddenly got muscles over the summer and went from dorky cute to hunky hot. 3. Your best friend doesn't act like that much of a friend sometimes. She can be really mean and lately she's not even really acting all that "in love" with her boyfriend.
If and only if 1-3 apply then MAYBE it could be okay to go for it, right? Please say yes.

Huge
Book by Sasha Paley
TV show on ABC Family
Review of TV show
Huge is the story of self-confident Willamina (she calls herself Will), whose parents send her to fat camp. She's not thrilled to be there because she likes herself just as she is, so she rebels by selling black market candy and pushing people's buttons.
She shares a cabin with a group of girls, all with their own issues: one with bulimia, one who puts pictures of skinny women on the wall for "thinspiration", one who just wants to fit in.
But fat camp isn't that unlike the real world: campers separate themselves into cliques, and romance really can happen between people who happen to be overweight (shocker!). I've only seen the first episode, but I'm already hooked.
If you didn't catch it on TV, you can watch it free online here: http://abcfamily.go.com/shows/huge.
1 Book=2 Movies?
I'm all for dragging out the fun BUT aren't the actors already starting to look too old in both films? Maybe we are just supposed to believe that fighting evil physically ages you, even if you are a magical wizard or permanenantly eighteen year old vampire.
What do others think? Good, bad or don't care?

Wish You Were Dead
There's an anonymous blogger at Madison's school who describes wishing certian popular kids who are very cruel would "just go away" and one by one the very kids mentioned in the blog posts start to disappear. Is blogger behind the kidnappings? Or is the person who has been stalking her online for over a year? Or is the new guy at her school who just seems too good to be true?
If you like mystery mixed with action this a great read.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/peterfortuna/ / CC BY 2.0 After a few annoying Firefox crashes I figured out that Shockwave Flash was freaking out on me. How I Figured It OutI figured out it was Shockwave Flash plugin by visiting seveal gaming sites and watching the cursor spin and spin. I had to Force quit the browser on my 10.6 by going to Mac->Force Quit->Firefox. I restarted Firefox and disabled all the add-ons by Firefox->Tools-Add-Ons. Went back to a gaming site. The site asked me to install Flash. I then re-enabled Shockwave Flash 10.1.x and watch the browser crash. |
