UNIVERSITY VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Deadline for Nominations: Friday, February 19, 2010
 
The University Volunteer of the Year Selection Committee is now accepting applications for the 2010 University Volunteer of the Year Award.  Nominations must be received by Friday, February 19, 2010, in order to be considered.  Anyone can nominate a Fresno State student for this award.  Self-nominations are also accepted.

Dr. Dickerson joined the Fresno State campus in 1985 as associate professor of textiles in the former Department of Family Studies and Home Economics.  She served as the Director of the Solutions Center  in the School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology from 1995-1999, became the Associate Dean in the Division of Graduate Studies in 1998  and served as Interim Graduate Dean from 11/1/05 ~ 5/1/08.

Several of the CSU’s most exemplary students who have overcome adversities the likes of homelessness, substance abuse and poverty were honored by the CSU’s Board of Trustees Sept. 22 for their academic achievements.

Our annual Emeriti Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in the Residence Dining Facility on campus.  At this time, we will honor 18 distinguished individuals who were awarded emeritus status.
 
A special reception in honor of the new emeriti will begin at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12 noon.  The cost of the luncheon is $12.00 per person.  Please make check payable to:  California State University, Fresno Foundation.

Student Protests At CSU Fresno

 Students all over the nation today are protesting increases in tuition, reduced class offerings, furloughs and more.   At CSU Fresno, students marched from Shaw Avenue to campus chanting and carrying posters and the like.  The event was tame and offered the gathering of peace officers little to do.

Go 'Dogs...!

 

Traffic on 19th Avenue was temporarily shut down today when students from San Francisco State University protesting cuts to educational funding poured into the street and blocked traffic.

Obama Wants to Reduce Educational Dropouts
